O senador foi agraciado com o trof\u00e9u &#8220;O Patrulheiro&#8221;, honraria destinada \u00e0queles que de alguma forma colaboram com a atividade da seguran\u00e7a p\u00fablica. Foi no governo Simom que o diretor do JCB, quando ent\u00e3o Capit\u00e3o, servindo como assessor, na Secretaria da Seguran\u00e7a P\u00fablica, fez a proposta de cria\u00e7\u00e3o do Instituto de Pesquisas da BM, ao que o governador criou o \u00f3rg\u00e3o, como OPM, sendo o primeiro entre as PMs brasileiras.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cidad\u00e3o Religioso \u00a0&#8211; cat\u00f3lico, o senador ficou curioso com a imagem de um santo negro, exposta na mesa da reuni\u00e3o, sobre o qual disse n\u00e3o conhecer. Foi ent\u00e3o entregue ao senador e explicado tratar-se de um santo cat\u00f3lico, franciscano da Ordem Terceira, escravo e negro, que nasceu na \u00c1frica. mas viveu toda sua vida na It\u00e1lia. <strong>O senador Pedro Simon ganhou, ent\u00e3o, uma imagem de Santo Ant\u00f4nio de Categer\u00f3<\/strong>.
